Technically interesting but the content is hackneyed, a man overpowers a woman. Hardly "genius". I find the theme offensive but obviously it's endlessly fascinating to some.

Faboo. I remember seeing that Franz Ferdinand video a while back with the pseudo-cutouts and thinking it was sort of clever thing, but these are much closer to the heart of what was so appealing. The Shitdisco bit is super goddam clever—jealous-I-didn't-think-of-that clever, really—but the Incubus work is just plain genuine craft.

I second cortex. Damn, I wish I could have thought of that. The song itself wasn't that good IMO, but the video makes it bearable.

The "genius" is in the "technique", not the "subject matter". The ending did make it creepy and not "hackneyed".

Maybe some could have taken the second link better if it had featured a succubus - I don't know (I somehow doubt it).

I really liked and appreciated the craft of the thing(s).
