sometimes it amazes me what some British tv gets away with The great benefit of which is watching American guests on talk shows loving the fact that they can swear and that hosts tend to ask them some pertinent questions from time to time. Kanye West was the guest host of the Friday Night Project last week. All night, he seemed to be looking around him in disbelief at how much fun it all was.

That's exactly what I mean. I can't imagine Jay Leno or even Conan getting away with half of what I've seen on Graham Norton. Stuff like crank calling Fucking, Austria & discussing MILFS for example.

The reference to Rod Hull and Emu in the Simon Cowell episode was simply sublime. Here it is at around 6 minutes 10 seconds. It had me rolling around on the floor for ages. The K-Fed character in the Britney one was hilarious too. Great post, thanks.

These are funny, but the American accents are *BAD*. Do British people really think we pronounce our R's that way? They do ok until they hit a word with R and suddenly they become West Country Pirates. "How aRRRRRe you? Nice afteRRRRRnoon."

The other thing that I meant to say was the barely noticeable but significant amount of really local cultural references. I think with some of it, you may be the biggest Anglophile on the planet, but there a million references that would pass you by. I sometimes wonder about all the little things that I inevitably miss when watching American comedies. For example, Bouncer's Dream being at Number One in the Cowell episode (although I guess if you are an Aussie you will get this reference too).
