Actually, it's pretty easy. Here's a tip:

Men dressing as women: Musical
Men having sex with other men: Gay

The only tricky part is figuring out which musical I've never seen is which.

i play cards with a group of gay men, and High School Musical seems to boggle their minds. i don't quite get it either.

i thought High School Musical was the palatable version of "gay," i.e. kitschsy crossdressing, not raging hardons, but i admit i know very little about it ...
