I'm just jealous that you beat me to it, but that doesn't destroy the fact that there are as-yet undiscovered tribes in the heart of the Amazonian jungle who saw that one coming... posted by UbuRoivas at 11:53 PM on August 29, 2007

I had this co-worker once who told me her cat routinely gets in the shower with her -- it likes getting wet. Still not sure I believe it. posted by pax digita at 2:46 AM on August 30, 2007
There must be a word for the feeling of euphoria one receives from looking at cats in unfavourable situations. It feels almost as if everything will be all right.
As I sit here, the new cat in our house is gazing into the fishtank, mewling with nervous agitation and cocking his head at a 65 degree angle. This cat would give 8 of his 9 lives to be a wet cat right....freakin'.....now.....meewwwwwwwwrrrrrrr...... posted by otolith at 5:38 AM on August 30, 2007

My cat goes out in the rain and seems to like getting wet. He'll roll around in puddles and come back sopping wet. posted by mike3k at 7:09 AM on August 30, 2007
My cat sits on the sink while I shower and loves to be pet with my wet sopping hands. Hates being threaten to be thrown in, but loves the stuff. posted by yeti at 8:19 AM on August 30, 2007
I have a cat that likes to walk along the top of my shower enclosure. It's only a matter of time before I discover how fast a wet cat can climb a naked body... posted by dejah420 at 8:41 AM on August 30, 2007 [1 favorite]

Well, my cat gets in the shower with me. He jumped in twice while I was taking a shower last night. He's even been known to climb into the empty tub to signal an interest in a shower. I've never taken any photos of him sopping wet, but maybe this is his chance to make it big on the internets! posted by gingerbeer at 10:43 AM on August 30, 2007
My cat hates getting immersed, but likes coming up to the bathtub and getting petted with my wet hands. She also likes rubbing her furry self against my wet legs when I get out of the shower, the creepy thing. posted by angeline at 10:48 AM on August 30, 2007
The worst thing about the cat getting in the shower is how much damp fur you end up with all over your damp self when you try to dry the cat off. posted by rtha at 11:23 AM on August 30, 2007

When asked she will describe her cat as 5' 8" and balding with a thin brown moustache. He eats kibble daily without complaint. posted by CynicalKnight at 12:30 PM on August 30, 2007 [1 favorite]

Bloody fucking fast.
Actually my new kitten is enamored with the shower. He still doesn't want to go in it when it's on, but he'll gaze longingly at whoever is using it, and then dash in when they leave. posted by Skorgu at 2:34 PM on August 30, 2007
My coworker has a cat that likes to swim around in the tub while she bathes. My cat, not so much. posted by gummi at 2:38 PM on August 30, 2007
I remember when I worked in a gallery about 15 years ago, this picture was kind of popular. So I submit to you, the photo that may have started it all:

Wow, I had no idea that picture had been a gallery print. Hysterical!
Swimming cats: I have a duck pond behind the house that has these monster catfish in it. (Seriously, my son pulled a fish out this summer that took 3 people to get the hook out so we could throw it back. Probably a 20 pound fish? I dunno...freakishly large.)
A swimming cat in a pond with monster fish, Jurassic ducks and periodic migrating geese. Now that's a recipe for an afternoon's entertainment. posted by dejah420 at 10:17 AM on August 31, 2007
