Since when did we get cat 5 levees? Or a working flood plan? Behold the New Orleans Levee, where 'We don't hold anything back.'

The first two links read like something 'funny' my aunt would forward/cc to 200 of her closest email friends, but it only took a couple of minutes of reading the rage-fueled pieces from the third link for me to become wearied, sad and tired. At least John Goodman has lost some weight.

Not the best site. And since every link is to the same site, not the best post. Ah well, the frustration is understandable anyway.

Have you seen the levee system in Holland? I have the only viable plan for New Orleans future. Give it away to the Dutch if they will take it.

I read that as "5 cat levees." Or rather, "5-cat levees." A levee made out of cats sounds awesome, if cruel and probably ineffectual. Anyway, you'd definitely need more than five. A five hundred cat levee, maybe.

Interesting post, localroger. Thanks.

Offtopic: I freaking love MoPI. Thanks for writing it.

I saw Cat-5 and thought they were made out of networking cable.

The linked articles may be sub-par, but I found this most interesting picture...

Is this really the Governor of Louisana?

That's really her face!

I also thought of Ethernet cables.

When I went back to NOLA last X-mas, I saw The Levee for the first time and loved it. My mom sends me issues.

Also, I was thinking the same thing as kittens for breakfast.

I thought it was cats tied up in networking cable.

I bet a dog was behind that idea. Or maybe a mouse.

I just want to point out that I first saw "localroger" as "lolcodger". That is all.

The political cartoons are great. That bus stop one is pretty heartbreaking.

winks007 -- I'm in Mandeville.

Wouldn't you know, I got home after posting this to find my telephone line AND DSL internet are both out, and apparently won't be fixed until after Labor Day. I'm posting this from the library. Just another day in NOLAland.
