I don't know who half the people are, and they have some astonishingly bad photos of really beautiful people. On the other hand, you can keep adding people to your morph via the link on the right ("morph this image"). Eventually I'll come up with a morph of everyone in their database. posted by desjardins at 12:56 PM on September 4, 2007
I just morphed Harry Potter and Jude Law and it came out awesome. (Also I love that Daniel Radcliffe is the only person who's in there by his character's name.) posted by knave at 1:26 PM on September 4, 2007
Who's going to do mattamyn? posted by randomination at 1:43 PM on September 4, 2007
It seems that morphing anybody with Hitler looks better than Hitler. posted by davy at 1:45 PM on September 4, 2007
I like how the website has taken two photos with slightly different angles, and yet, combined them together rather well. Eyes go with the eyes, mouth goes to mouth, hair goes to hair and all that.
Also, I don't know who Allison Macks is, but now would like to know more.
Here you go. Currently plays Chloe Sullivan on Smallville. Also played on Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves. She is 25 and married. posted by JDHarper at 2:33 PM on September 4, 2007
wannalol: In Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Knightley played one of Portman's attendants and when they were both in make up, their mother's couldn't tell them apart. posted by spec80 at 2:37 PM on September 4, 2007
Ack! Thpbthth! Gollum and pretty much anybody would keep one up at night.
Figures... Morphing these two comes out lookin' like this guy... well when he was much younger and didn't have to shave. And had hair. posted by ZachsMind at 5:30 PM on September 4, 2007 [1 favorite]
Shame I can't just merge like twenty or forty pics together to see what'd come out. I'd imagine after awhile they'd all average out to look like what faceresearch.org has found. (mentioned previously on MeFi) posted by ZachsMind at 5:53 PM on September 4, 2007
Check out this morph of Matthowie. posted by mecran01 at 6:47 PM on September 4, 2007
Man... Hitler/Hendrix is pretty cool. And Morphing anyone with Gollum yields what they'll look like doing TV interviews at age eighty after forty face-lifts. posted by mmahaffie at 6:54 PM on September 4, 2007 [1 favorite]
I managed to get the darn thing to morph Matt with Al Pacino, but I can't morph Matt with Jess or Josh. =( posted by ZachsMind at 7:46 PM on September 4, 2007
Matt's pic isn't working well cuz he's showing his teeth. I got nothing against his teeth. It's just that most of the other pics at MorphThing, they aren't showing their teeth, so it makes for a weird morph. Case in point: I just tried morphing Matthowie & Alec Baldwin and the end result looks like he's chewing his own face. Very surreal.
Jessamyn's pic is too dark, and she's also further away from the camera than most of the other pics. So to get a good result, you have to pick a very light image to compensate for the darkness. Jess and Amy Lee for example. posted by ZachsMind at 8:07 PM on September 4, 2007
This one kinda works. Cortex and Chris Martin. I dunno who Chris Martin is tho. Notice again though that there's a distance issue. I dunno how to compensate for that. posted by ZachsMind at 8:10 PM on September 4, 2007
I wish there was a better picture for Matt, but after scouring the internet I realized that, one, he looks scarily like Sylar from Heroes, and two, he doesn't know how to look into a damn camera.
I found a better image for jessamyn, so I'll redo that and cortex. Meanwhile, here's an interesting combination. posted by flatluigi at 8:44 PM on September 4, 2007
(oh, and you can combine other people's pictures if you save them to your "My Images.") posted by flatluigi at 9:09 PM on September 4, 2007
After awhile, all celebrities start to look the same. Here's some forty-eight of my favorite faces, mushed together like mashed potatoes in a blender. No accounting for taste, I know. posted by ZachsMind at 10:50 PM on September 4, 2007 [1 favorite]
Those super-mush-of-96-faces faces are so eerily attractive. Like somebody took the most beautiful people from all over the world and forced them to breed excessively for generations. posted by tehloki at 8:52 AM on September 6, 2007
It doesn't help that the morphing process makes the photos look soft-focused, like they used to do every time they showed a pretty woman on the original Star Trek series. All it's missing is the eerie music. posted by Dave Faris at 9:24 AM on September 6, 2007
