"I'm a good kid. I’ve been brought up with very good morals and I’m not going to go out and do something I don’t want other kids to do. I love being a role model because, in Hollywood, there aren't a lot of role models to look up to." last link nsfw

I suppose that now that the WWN is gone, Metafilter has to step in to fill the gap.

Of course, in a normal universe, a young actress with nude pics wouldn't be that big of a deal. People (real people) get naked and take pictures of themselves all the time.

But here in Bizzaro-universe you're not allowed to be a role-model for youth and a sexual being at the same time.

Naked != immoral

At least in my book.

This is a perfect example of why link padding sucks. There is absolutely no way to know what the 'a' link links to or 'other' or 'kids' until you click.

There is some sort of scandal involving her being photographed without clothes? Idiotic.

This just in, People are naked underneath their clothes all the time Even cute teen celebrities! They often shower naked too! OMG!

You linked all that crap just to say that some young Hollywood person took nekkid pictures?

The world is broken. This post is just a symptom of said brokenness.

CHRIST I am feeling so fucking cynical today. WTF frontal lobe?!?

A good role model for youth would let them know it's OK to be a sexual being--all physically mature people are, one way or another--and maybe then we could talk about them being a safe one in a rational way which didn't include such idiotic concepts as "abstinence education" and the like.

I doubt her fans thought she wasn't naked under her clothes.

This is as maddening as that woman who was canned from the kid's show because she was in a fun spoof commercial about masturbation and another about anal sex years prior.

In the interest of serving the hunger of American and foreign audiences, I just a few minutes ago posted the photos of this young actress. It should be noted that the pictures were to be private, a gift, so to speak, to her current boyfriend and star on High School Musical, Zac. The photos were to keep him interested, we are told. Golly, Zac, now you know what you have in store for you if you play your cards right. Now Metafilteristas may carp and belittle, but some day, your girl might be a star and then we will want to see her nude too. People that live in cyberspace should not throw stones at puter monitors.

People (real people) get naked and take pictures of themselves all the time.

Not that I agree with corporations castigating people who do this, but only really, really dumb people do it. If you don't want to be seen nude, don't take pictures of yourself when you are nude.

Elaborate viral campaign to convince teenage girls that the star of High School Musical is straight. Damn, that Disney is wily!

Hey Kids! Scooby-Doo is not real. He is a cartoon dog.
Plus, the kids that he hangs around with don't go to school.
You never see them study or nothing. Besides, in real life
if you go sneaking around peoples properties at night, you're bound to get a long police record, or get shot by some property owner and junk.

What Would Tyler Durden Do had this yesterday. Will we be seeing the naked-Angelina trailer here tomorrow?

I guess I'd care if I felt there was a real dialogue here on the Disney teen queen machine.

On preview: TPS, does it matter since Hudgens' rep has stated she took them herself?

In my normal universe, role models would have boyfriends and nude photos if they wanted, but there would be a scandal if they started shilling for Neutrogena.

People are naked underneath their clothes all the time

That was the subject of my all-time favorite Sam the Eagle editorial.

A good role model for youth would let them know it's OK to be a sexual being

Oh trust me. That message is out there. They make bikini underwear for five year olds with the words "Bad Girl" written across the ass, for god's sake.
posted by jrossi4r at 8:40 AM on September 7, 2007

I seem to recall hearing stories of teens getting in trouble with the law for exploiting themselves in similar manners.

I don't know either.

I've assumed since the beginning that the Vanessa/Zac relationship was manufactured for the HSM 2 release; if kittens for breakfast turns out to be right and Efron turns out to be gay, the joke will have been on all of us. (I don't believe that anyone from the Company would leak these to support Efron's heterosexuality -- the hit that Hudgens will take from the God Squad for this, before Disney is even remotely done promoting HSM 2, far outweighs a need to kill a gay rumor.)

This is a perfect example of why link padding sucks.

Amen to that. Filling out a post about naked pix of some 18 year old (or was it 17 year old? or 16? inquiring minds want to know!) with 24 links of pr crap, ads, video clips, and news stories doesn't make this anything other than a post about naked pix of some 18/17/16 year old.

I'm not clicking on the links (I heard the story on the news this morning) but I am going to assume you didn't do something very silly like post naked pictures of an underage girl. Perhaps these are medical pictures? Yes, that's it. LEt's all say that these are medical pictures submitted for inclusion in an upcoming medical textbook cal Hot Introductory Pathology .

Of course, in a normal universe, a young actress with nude pics wouldn't be that big of a deal. People (real people) get naked and take pictures of themselves all the time.
But here in Bizzaro-universe you're not allowed to be a role-model for youth and a sexual being at the same time.

You and others here are completely right, but my guess is that when she made the statement "I'm a good kid..." she meant to communicate the message that she's a good and chaste girl etc. and that parents can let their daughters look up to her because she isn't going to be the kind of girl they imagine would be taking pictures of herself. In other words, it is likely that she was duplicitous when she made the statement.

Also, consider this story in light of the one about the woman who was kicked off the airplane because she looked too hot (or something), I find it at once hilarious and horrifying how our culture treats very attractive sexually self-aware women as some kind of ticking bomb to be scuttled away and hidden. It's almost as if they worry that good-looking women will have an epiphany, realize how attractive they are and the effect of that on men, and will proceed to use that to conquer the world.

Oh, wait, that is precisely what they're worried about.

1. since this post might in fact be linking to naked pictures of an underage girl, it might be best for one of the mods to delete it.

2. this post sucks anyway, so it's definitely best for the mods to delete it.

p.s. What's sexual about this? That a bunch of adults can think really dirty thoughts about it? That you read something sexual into the existence of those underwear doesn't make it so.
