Haughey in hospital after collapse
Former Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Haughey, and sharer of the surname of this sites founder, collapsed at his home yesterday. Haughey is now infamous for his dishonest dealings while in power in the 1970's and 1980's and the various tribunals instigated as a result have taken their toll.

Christ, the headline even scared me, and I know I'm fine.

Wasn't there some recent comment (in Metatalk) about the irresponsibility of yelling "Fire!" in a crowded movie house?! Isn't this is the MeFi equivalent?
A strong virtual slap to tomscograve - "don't do that!"

I did consider that this might happen before I posted, but I did make sure I clearly referred to the person involved.....name or name, it is headline news here in Ireland and I felt I had a right to post it, name or no name.
And I feel the "fire" comment is irrelevant - someone called Haughey did actually collapse (a former Irish PM), so there is truth to the post, as opposed to a fabrication of something.

Then again, I'd never heard of the other Haughey.

When I see 'Haughey', my first thought is still 'Charlie' eventhough I think of Matt a lot more (and think a lot more *of* him too).
Plus, if you look at Tom's post you'll see 'Former Irish Taoiseach' right underneath 'Haughey'. I think it's blatantly obvious.

Rule #1: Don't shout "Haughey" in a crowded MetaFilter.
