I saw this yesterday and had a good chuckle. It's probably my favorite of the Chris Crocker spoofs making the rounds.

I'm guess the one by Seth Green has already been posted here. I haven't read Mefi in past two days.

I am Effigy2000's failure to preview.

Ok, so I got 5 of these in my collection now including the original. Who wants to help me find more good ones :) Don't hate. My hope is that the original is the worst and every response/parody will be much better. That way I can say I only saw the original so I could truly appreciate the parodies.

And who knew that Michael Jackson had a song called "Leave me alone.."

I'm already sick to death of this meme, but I appreciated fake Bush's sloppy philtrum vs Crocker's wet-but-unmussed eyes.

what's up with all the self-linking, chime?
posted by dhammond at 9:52 PM on September 14, 2007

Sometimes I wish someone else made that damn site so I didn't feel so guilty mentioning it in public. Just feels weird saying [plug] every time I want to link to a channel I made. Sorry if that looks like I'm breaking Mefi etiquette. I had the Seth Green video playing in my channel coincidentally at the same time I hit refresh on Mefi. I found it via reddit.

chime.tv is pretty cool, chime, but, yeah, just try to keep it a bit more moderate. It's kind of a weird line to walk, because it's a pretty cool site.

C'mon guys. Self-linking in FPP = BAD DOG. Self-linking in comments = no biggie.

Seconded.

Even Matt self-links in the comments. That's as close to a sanction as you're ever going to find.

maryh, Poetically put. Agreeing with your point and thanks for the new vocab! "The philtrum (Greek philtron, from philein, "to love; to kiss"), also known as the infranasal depression, is the vertical groove in the upper lip, formed where the nasomedial and maxillary processes meet during embryonic development.

The philtrum allows humans to express a much larger range of lip motions than would otherwise be possible, which enhances vocal and non-verbal communication."

Still on the sobbing and wailing track...upping the ante and adding lacrimal caruncle and punctum. (But couldn't resist learning the mellifluous the parts of the ear too: concha, helix, scaphoid fossa, tragus)

"The philtrum (Greek philtron, from philein, "to love; to kiss")

Oh dear, nickyskye, I was describing George Bush (well, an impersonator.) The definition of 'philtrum' I remember from my life drawing classes was simply "the snot groove". Seems a lot more appropriate in this context than the lovin' and the kissin' definition..... (must... gargle.... to remove Rove taste)

General Petraeus, hmmm...

Remind me again: Did he work on the Death Star or was he a rebel leader that had Death Star blueprints?

That sloppy philtrum is obviously a product of Eating Chris's Cornhole.

Morning sunshine. Well, unless one has the flu or blubbering madly in a crock of Chris impersonation of an impersonation of an impersonation (isn't the GW puppet an impersonation of his father doing a Howdy Doody impersonation anyway?), the philtrum wouldn't be snotty. It would otherwise be quite kissable, no? I'm saying that because I think your art teacher, in attempting the useful mnemonic of "snot groove", deprived you of the beauty of an ordinarily non-sloppy philtrum.

self linking in comments is FINE if it has something to do with the thread. there is no "weird line" here. I would think cortex would know that.

No, I think it's the other way around.

BTW, Seth Green is alright in my book, if only for Robot Chicken.

My new goal in life is to do something stupid and obnoxious enough to get Seth Green to do a parody.

Actually, now that I think about it, that's been my goal all along.

Never mind. Carry on.

I don't really want to get into a big thing in this thread. I think chime.tv is cool, I think chime is pretty dang cool too, and haven't mistaken posts for comments re: self-links. That said, his last nine comments across several threads have included five links back to the siteā€”in light of that, counseling a bit of self-aware restraint is pretty much S.O.P. If it's something that needs debating, let's do it not here, though.

Another vote for Robot Chicken.

Not that everyone's not already sick of the Miss Teen South Carolina meme too, but this parody had me laughing.
