I liked Hawtin's. Minimal, like the music.

Hell, Vath (rhymes with fate!), and Hawtin have places that exactly match up with my ideas about their tastes.

Gestern abend hat ein DJ mein Leben gerettet ... mit einem Thong.

DJ? Langspielplattenschieber!

All three of the links are the same?

Old link ( from discogs at least ), but definitely a goodie. Love Vath's and Hawtin's. Although I dislike their music the most over the past two years. Weird...

Berlin fehlt mir! So gut wie jeder Berliner, der ich kannte, als ich in der Stadt lebte, wohnte in so einem ähnlichen Zimmer... Manchmal sieht es so aus, als ob alle jungen Berliner arbeitslosen DJs wären.

3 identical links and some dodgy fake German.

Great post!

Man, did I fuck this one up too?

Don't drink and post, kids.

Second link should be: http://www.thelastbeat.com/2007/09/02/899/

The "from" is ilxor.com.

I swear I previewed this twice too.

(That's OK, Wolof, we can't all wait for accordion players to die.)

"Gestern abend hat ein DJ mein Leben gerettet ... mit einem Thong."

Shouldn't it be "mit ihn Thong"? I think that's right.

(Though I don't remember what you do when it's dative and possessive, which is why my German is not-so-good).

Mit einem Thong (oder Lied, meinst Du?). It's not possessive.

I just saw these photos last month at the C/O Pop festival in Cologne. There they are on the wall in this picture.

I think i'd rather dj in a red room, or a blue room, even a mauve room... anything but white. I need some external stimulation, even if i happen to close my eyes when i'm really feeling the music.

No need to shut up about what you don't know. Just do your enormous hairy mouth thing. It's bound to work out.

Ok...
Ahemm...

"Erst" should be "Erstens" if it starts consecutive numbering.

"Langspielplattenschieber" would be "Langspielplattenaufleger", if such a thing existed (literally: "He who puts on the discs which run a long time"). "Schieben" is "to push".

"[...]als ob alle jungen Berliner arbeitslosen DJs wären" should be "[...]als ob alle jungen Berliner arbeitslose DJs wären", or else it would read as if out-of-work was meant to attach Berliner instead of DJ, and for that it would be in the wrong position within the sentence.

"Shouldn't it be "mit ihn Thong"?" - no, it shouldn't. "Mit einem Thong" is correct German for "with a thong"; for the possessive pronoun it would have to be "mit seinem Thong" or "mit ihrem Thong", depending on the gender of the aforementioned DJ.

Oh, and: nice article.

"Mit einem Thong (oder Lied, meinst Du?). It's not possessive."

With his song? (Which is Lied, you're right).

"No need to shut up about what you don't know. Just do your enormous hairy mouth thing. It's bound to work out."

I think I got "DJs in their livingrooms" out OK. Or do you have a point with your petulance?

Well, just the obvious one. Upsell, bullshit, crap, can't spell worth a damn, etc. Look at me! I'ma spik reel good Greman!

How is "DJs in ihren Wohnzimmeren" incorrect? I'll take the hit on my ordinals, so what?

I mean, I know that you're a douche, but I'm having a hard time even coming up with a tenuous connection to the link itself in your criticism. And upselling? What the hell are you on about?

I understand German well enough to read most of the text in the link, and the articles are in German, so I thought it'd be fun to write it up in German.

If you've got any more bitching and moaning about that, feel free to take me to Metatalk. Otherwise, go be a dick to your daughter—she has to put up with it.
