Funny because it's true.
Except where the troll dickwad admitted that he was lonely. While likely true, it just never happens that way in real life. posted by psmealey at 5:50 AM on September 22, 2007

You know online group videos, on wikipedia it says they are part of the a scheme of reassuring self-confirmation of the appartenence to a group that also have some exclusivity thanks to the injoke references, obviously obscure to others. It's like being part of a club and digging it! posted by elpapacito at 6:31 AM on September 22, 2007 [1 favorite]

Nicely said elpapacito.
Loved that WolfDaddy and Stavros' one too. Could relate all too well to the irritating chubby guy, Mo, who cites Wikipedia and goes off on an anecdote.

Wow, for a second I perked up and thought that post was about a proper way to retire from being a commenter on Metafilter. A little voice inside me said: Yes pleeze can I pleeze has no more wasted life energy on bad soul sucking threads and there was an evil little LOLZCAT saying: Imz in yer threads sucking on yer souls...and I thought perhaps I could do it. I could quit Metafilter forever and stop providing Matt Howie with free and valuable content and do something meaningful instead, read a good book or working on my book, or cleaning the house or taking a shower...
Who knew that excruciatingly tiresome commentspeak would actually improve excruciatingly tiresome meetings? I'm going to try this at the next hellish faculty drone-along. posted by FelliniBlank at 7:42 AM on September 22, 2007

Puh-leeze. In an era where mainstream comedy shows have a Senior Black Correspondent, is the segregation of humor on the College Humor campus all that surprising? posted by t2urner at 12:05 PM on September 22, 2007
FelliniBlank, I've implemented contingent labor management systems with major corporations for a large temporary contingent labor vendor. That's past puree to liquefy and sometimes even on to aerate. Exchanging one set of jargon for an even more annoying one would not have helped. posted by lodurr at 12:09 PM on September 22, 2007 [1 favorite]
