these are fun! it's wild how when you tell your brain to find a face, it automatically interprets otherwise tame symbols as features of a human face. They just pop out! You never find a mouth, then eyes and oh! theres a nose, the face is just there.

A simple idea really well executed - just one or two photos by themselves wouldn't be much but the concept grows on you as you see more. I like this roof in particular.

Several years ago I spent some time thumbing through a photography book in a bookstore, by a photographer who had put together an entire volume of exactly this kind of stuff: face forms, in all sorts of inanimate objects, and it was excellent. Now I want to know who it was, because as good and charming as some of these are, this book was, as I recall, better. Page after page of delightful and surprising finds. Can't remember the photographer's name, of course... It might've been from a pair of photographers: I'm thinking maybe husband/wife team. If it weren't bedtime I'd dig around the nets for it.

Yeah, this is great. I used to see faces in car fronts too as a child. It's funny how you forget these things as an adult until someone reminds you.

flapjax, this might be the book you're thinking of - Face to Face by brothers Francois and Jean Robert. They've both also done a few other face books which you can also find at Amazon.
