good song. movie was affected, pointless, and weak. Weak performances, even from Schwartzman, who I expect better from. And I love Wes Anderson (well, Rushmore and tennenbaums Wes Anderson)

Ah, that makes perfect sense. I saw Hotel Chevalier and The Darjeeling Limited last week, and couldn't quite understand why the short ("Part 1 of The Darjeeling Limited") wasn't going to be shown with the feature when it's released this week. You can catch both of them together at the New York Film Festival on Friday. Here's Marcy's review of The Darjeeling Limited, which I liked quite a bit, too.

pxe2000 - oh no, oh no I'm seriousasamycardialinfarctionofthefirstorder... OK, maybe I'm not. But I do/have loved reading Armond White; often enlightening, always erudite, and sometimes so far out in left field (his blind love of Spielberg) that I have to admire him, though I do not agree with his taste in movies I always find his opinions well worth considering, and I never feel I've wasted my time after reading his column. On another note - I thought this short was better than anything I'd seen of Anderson's in his previous two movies. I was totally distracted by Ms.Portman but until she walked into the room I was struck with how much richer this was than Life Aquatic and briefly am holding out hopes this new movie will be better...
