I'm ashamed, Big Daddy. That's why I'm a drunk. When I'm drunk, I can stand myself.

Tragedy Travesty. Although it's both, really.

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but it's not just California.

Poetry. I'm going to put that on a t-shirt.

I wish I could afford those kinds of lawyers. Shooting people sounds therapeutic.

And um... pyramid termite, I just decided to look, and I think this (June 24, 2004) was the last time you used a period at the end of a sentence, or a capital letter at the front. You used them for a whole year and a half before then. I will never be so anal as to ask you to change, but I have to ask – was it conscious? Because it sure is noticeable now. It is like a gleaming neon pyramid termite sign.

blacklite, would you please consider being funnier in all of your comments. It's been like three years and I've been trying to hold myself back, but, I can only bottle my emotions for so long.

I'm not saying anyone needs to be lynched. And I really do need to be funnier. Just noticing. All we have here is text after all, there's not that much that stands out.

Could you compliment me a bit more? Would that kill you? And take out the trash before I ask you once in a while.

It's not like it took a lot of time. I just clicked on your name, looked at a few comment dates pretty much at random, and noticed that instead of some kind of gradual transition it was just boom.

I just wondered if maybe that was the day your dot key broke.

re: blacklite's derail, sung to the tune of Dylan's "Desolation Row"

yes he received your letter yesterday
about the time the dot key broke
when you asked him how he was posting
was that some kind of joke
this mefite that you've mentioned
he does not punctuate
but that's not worth a derail
blacklite, you ought to wait
cause phil spector, man, he's walking
you must have something else to say
instead of going on about
how termite writes, okay?

BTW, in case any of y'all missed it, here's my big fat Phil Spector FPP, from earlier this month.

Phil will be vindicated. Remember, they tried to nail OJ Simpson but Truth won out.

Maybe there's a music memorabilia store in Las Vegas with his albums and fake autographs. This could be only part one.
posted by dances_with_sneetches at 6:17 AM on September 27, 2007

stavrogin, you magnificent bastard.

This is the problem with link padding. I clicked three or four of the links in this FPP, and I had no idea it was supposed to be about Specter until I came and actually started looking over the comments.

Anyway, if it's just a mistrial, they can just try again until they get an acquittal or a conviction.

Here's a shitload of full stops to make up for the last few years of mr termite's painful negligence (it's like punctuation offsetting):

So pt gets to buy punctuation offsets? Does Al Gore know about this?
posted by Pope Guilty at 6:50 AM on September 27, 2007

It's worse man. These are voluntary offsets! What good will that do when the pixels are down and it's depunctuate or die?

Are commas and semicolons acceptable forms of trade?
What about illiterates learning to read and write? Surely they don't have to deal with the same restrictions as the rest of us?
What about the ee cummings school - their poetic competitiveness will be damaged by these new onerous Big Grammar regulations?
posted by lalochezia at 8:44 AM on September 27, 2007

pyramid termite, I notice you never bothered to answer the question.

I judge you -- all of you -- when you use poor grammar.

Also, I detest FPPs that contain one-link-per-word. Seriously, why not describe what the links were about?

More blacks, Latinos live in cells than in dorms.
What about the mentally ill who are in jail. Isn't a society judged by how it treats by those who are minorities? The eugenics movement here provided the fodder for Hitler’s racial ideas. The Nazi were exterminating women 52 years old and greater. That idealism of the 60's and the Democratic Party, the party of FDR, still informs my conscious. What happened to all the counter culture who were part of that decade did they just metamorphose into beautiful Neocons? Would Nixon would be a liberal today, and I kinda miss him.
