Wonderful and interesting post Miko. Neat find. Love old photographs. So much that is captivating about them.

These sound like they were practical photographic replacements for painted portrait miniatures.

I love these things. I have a few of ancestors, and worry that they might fade to nothingness over time. (Locked in fireproof box and hauled out when I need an historical fix- just about now, come to think of it.) Thanks
