Red, blue? matters not. Support SHELLEY disclosure: I am in no way related and have never met this fine person but her site is grand.

This post was deleted for the following reason: With all due to respect to mixscarlet and Postroad respectively, we've linked her blog before and this is kind of uncomfortably Vote For Pedro territory. -- cortex

She studies hair cell regeneration. Exciting!

Yeah...but Jess Kim is short and Asian. So, ya know. Winner.

I would do anything for the woman who taught me about how the CIA killed an elephant with LSD.

Who else is running? Links?

Jess Kim seems like a nice and popular girl, but she's obviously totally whoring for the votes she's getting.

Hi all, I'm Shelley (thanks Postroad, whoever you are!)

The place to vote is here:
http://www.collegescholarships.org/blog/2007/10/08/vote-for-the-winner-of-the-2007-blogging-scholarship/

There are many deserving blogs, but of course, I do hope you choose mine as I will use the money to pay for my education. I'm getting my PhD and still have debt from undergrad (biochem). And yes, I study hair cell regeneration as a therapy for deafness and hearing impairment.

Thanks for your support, whoever you vote for. :)

This puzzled me, until I clicked a few of the links in the FPP and followed through. After perusing a few of the other candidates' blogs, I did indeed vote for Shelley: in addition to being smart and taking her studies seriously, she also takes blogging seriously, and she has a category titled "People I'd Like To See Fight William Shatner." Pretty cool.

(My previous snarky comment about her stands).

As does reply.

...okay... The William Shatner thing almost won me over but I have my principles. *smirk*

No offense, but I've no plans to vote for the upcoming presidential election, so why would I do this? I need a better reason than cuz PostRoad told me to. I might continue participating in Battle of the Band type stuff, but that's about where I'm drawing the line nowadays. Nothin' personal. I hear chains do you hear them?

As does my reply that the admins you dealt with didn't like you? Yes, that reply stands as well.

I voted just for reading the article which excerpts this:

"The researchers noted that the signs of LSD inebriation became apparent within 15-30 minutes with effects lasting 4-5 hours...Some of the children became flush and their pupils dilated, but neither pulse nor blood pressure showed much change. Behaviorally, the effects varied. Three children were said to show evidence of catatonia (strange, fixed position of hands, bizarre postures, wavy flexibility of arms). None of the children ate their lunch until the drug wore off...Psychic effects were also noted, including rapid mood swings from extreme elation to extreme depression, increased anxiety, and signs of both visual and auditory hallucinations."

Dose the children, learn that they don't eat while on acid.

We did, though, have a quite autistic subject of an FPP come on here and say that the LSD did help somewhat.

Because this is a hell of a lot cooler and meaningful ;)
Shelley is a cool ass girl and you should go vote for her!
