Too bad they don't have a complete cycle, though at the rate they were filming (assuming it wasn't digital), maybe they couldn't rig the camera with enough film.

The only thing better would have been enough film to see the whole thing up to actual speed (and yeah, that would be hard to actually see, but still cool).

Somehow, 40+ years ago, when I was learning about Otto cycle engines, I always pictured spark ignition as being more violent. Before electronic ignition and thin electrode platinum plugs, maybe it was, but it's hardly noticeable in this video. Great find, Armitage Shanks!

This would be cooler if they would stick things in the combustion chamber and we could watch what happens to it. Things like a french fry, a pinball, a tamagotchi, and so forth.
