It's a little known fact that the Chinese have no concept of cheesiness.

I needed that.

I was hoping someone was offering free ice cream today and that I could pick some up before my shift. My hopes have been dashed.

This comic is about why having the hopes and dreams of children crushed by the cold weight of reality beats the living hell out of the alternative.

Darn, I thought you were letting us know it was Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's. BUt that's not til spring. Oh, well.
posted by Miko at 8:08 AM on October 17, 2007

Hee hee. Reading from the beginning it goes all Bill Plympton in some of them. Overall what darksasami said - it's a pastel rendering of that Twilight Zone episode with the kid who could wish people away.

I like it!

They are unsure about this grinning fool that approaches them. They do the 'hat trick' and smile at them. They think that the 'hat trick' or at the very least, 'grinning' or 'smiling' will get them through (they have a red balloon after all). They loses faith in the 'smile approach' but try it on anyway, as any people would. It's ice cream.

I'll admit to being among the crowd that was at first disappointed by the lack of actual free ice cream, but I was quickly overtaken by the joy of reading these. They'll linger in a far nicer way than ice cream and long lines would.

No ice cream. Comics. What.

Free Cone Day goes on our company's calendar.
The whole office walks over to Ben & Jerry's.

This comic is just like Red Meat, except exactly the opposite.

I'm still a little confused, but I'm going with it.

Another bizarro webcomic I just don't get.

I am missing something here... Good art, but I couldn't follow the comic through to the last panel- I feel like I slept through the middle part of a movie

It helps if you start at the first one. I was confused. Then I did that. Now I like it.

This reminds me. I really need to go into the kitchen and make myself a bowl of ice cream.

Oh crap, I had completely forgotten about Red Meat. Thanks for reminding me. Now I have something to do this weekend.

Yay! This one reminded me of this FLCL episode and also this piece of writing. Asteroids and baseball.

This is seriously brilliant. It reminds me a lot of the general tone in the Flight collections.

Damnit, now I have to go get ice cream.

Wow, those were amongst the most stereotypically pointless webtoons I've ever seen.
