Anatomy of an Authentic Skateboarder
1. Upturned sun visor.
2. scruffy, gnashing teeth, beedy-eyed mug that only Aphex Twin could love.
3. Lots and lots of chest hair.

Meet the Amazing Strangers of Union Square, photographed and commented on by Normal Bob Smith. [previously]

I tried to figure out what the hell he was going on about, but the colors gave me a headache. Can someone fill me in? I'm going to go lie down.

This was very cool - the peepers page was kinda amazing, in a social anthropology way.

ahhh, the endless search for "authenticity", usually consisting of groups of people other than one's self.

That peepers page was very interesting. I spend a lot of time on Union Square, and now I have a new thing to do -- go peeper spotting.

The peepers were well worth the price of admission. OK, it's the internet and it's free, but still, that was amazing.

Interesting content, style, and illustrations.

Horrible UI, organization, and design. Impossible to navigate.

Too bad. Has lots of potential.

Agreed on the interesting-ness of the peepers page. I'll pass through Union Square on my way home from work tonight, and will definitely be on the lookout for peepers. And visible panties, as the case may be.

Normal Bob Smith's web design was tolerable when the web was a baby. Not any more!

If a site has 35 pages of fan mail and 344 pages of hate mail, it must be doing something right!

It's like a scene out of The Warriors, except all the gangs are made up of total douches (so not that much different, really).

I'd probably hit it.

I went through Union Square tonight and saw no peepers. It bummed me out.

Normal Bob Smith's Dress-Up Jesus magnets have adorned my fridge for quite some time now. Love them. Occasionally forget they are on the fridge when some people visit, but if they don't like the magnets, well, it's my house.

I think I am going to spend lunch at Union Square today. But to be a peeper, or to be a peeper-spotter... that is the question.
