Remittances from abroad, mostly by taking advantage of free movement of labor within the European Union, are now worth almost 2.5% of the gross domestic product of 250 billion euros.Unemployment goes down, money is injected into the economy, housing is built, and everyone benefits. There are so many young Poles working temporarily in Britain that a Polish university has opened a London campus so people can work without taking time off their studies. Eventually most of those hard-working young people go back to Poland to live in the homes their remittances bought.
