Wow, to bad myspace sucks ass. What's up with all these bands that failed to get the memo?

I just broke the tags because of you, delmoi.

(...and because I put an apostrophe in them.)

Saw 'em in Dallas a month or two ago. Great show. Wish they'd allow downloads, can't believe they'd allow themselves to be outdone by Radiohead.

Yeah it is. Why?

It's a very good album that gets better each time, as per the usual with Ween. I recommend "With My Own Bare Hands".

I worked very briefly on "Your Party" a couple of months ago and thought the lyrics were just great. Well worth a listen.

*leans toward doing the two ween shows back to back plan that was tabled a while back...*

aw hells yeah! thanks for posting this. preordered my copy a couple of weeks ago.

as much as myspace sucks, its really a great central place where bands can post their stuff. whenever i hear a new band i always check for a myspace page...

I have a WEEN story and I swear it's true.

So it was back in 91 or so And I was in this band with my roommate, Wayne, and our other roommate, Christian. So during that summer we had this running gag, we called "The Crip." It involved going out in public places acting as if we had some sort of palsy or motor-control issue. We would go out as a group (bars, restaurants, skating rinks) and do this act the whole time we were out. It was addictive, kind of "our thing" and we did it incessantly.

So that year our band played Cicero's in St Louis (We lived in Springfield, MO) and see that WEEN is playing there the very next night. We were all WEEN fans (only one album out at that point) so staying was a must. So we play our show, and stay the night and return the next evening to see WEEN.

True to our form, we dance doing "The Crip" the whole night. Right front and center to the stage, the whole night. Cicero's was notoriously tiny then. There was no missing us. They even laughed at the three of us dancing that way without breaking form for so long.

Imagine our reaction months later when this video hits the air.

So I can't prove anything, but I'm just sayin'.

What's up with the Myspace hate? This is a cool thing. You complain about the format? How lame. By the way, if you didn't get the memo, MySpace, as lame as it is, does one thing well which is host a ton of bands. OK, Ween, being not some nobody band could do better.

Oh yeah, Rutgers just beat the No. 2 team in the nation, yay.

Okay, listening.

This is probably the straightest Ween Album. I'm glad Gener's sober and well, but Quebec made me cry, regularly, which was awful and awesome.

What's up with the Myspace hate?

I'm with caddis. There's a knee-jerk hatred for it which is, at this point, misplaced and dated. MySpace Music is a great resource for musicians and bands. Yeah, the format, or more specifically, the lack of flexibility, is a drag, but as caddis points out, it's a free and low-hassle web presence for lots and lots of musicians. Since I've been on it I've discovered lots of cool music, struck up some friendships that go beyond the "MySpace friend" definition, gotten back in touch with musicians I haven't been in contact with for years, etc. And lots of folks who wouldn't have heard my music have heard it, thanks only to MySpace. And in a city as huge and diverse (musically) as Tokyo, where other channels of communication aren't great, I've met and worked with local musicians here that I probably wouldn't have found otherwise.

And hey, you can make "friends" with folks who aren't even alive! See here.

I hate myspace because it is going to climb into my computer while its turned off and ruin it like I heard on the news. Also, please cancel Google.

In related news, I am thrilled that there is a new Ween album out and that I am listening to it right now. I didn't think we'd be hearing another one. Hurray!

That Ween concert in Berlin was one of the best concerts I've ever been on. When the whole audience without exception sang along to "Buenos Tardes Amigo" I had tears in my eyes... And I think Dean Ween too.

The most fun I ever had with Ween was frisbeeing their cds up and down the corridor in the basement of Compton hall. It wouldn't be the same if I had to burn my own first.

I love ween. I seen 'em 3 times, in denver, LA, and asheville. There is no better rock and roll than ween.

But Ween? Really good drugs.

So, no, thanks.

Faux Real and humannaire, thanks for your kind words: I'm glad you like my song!

But, humannaire, you linked to snsranch's SUPERHERO song, not mine! Heh heh!

I'm seeing Ween at the end of November in Boston. I've never seen them live, but have loved them since the GodWeenSatan days. I. am. wicked. psyched.
