Reasons to repaint your aircraft:

1. Bankruptcy
2. Corporate buyout / takeover
3. Plane crash resulting in passengers being consumed by native fauna

Needs Alaska' Salmon-Thirty-Salmon.

I guess it would make sense to repaint your plane after it crashes. Assuming it has been put back togeather already...

Awesome.

It looks like all it takes to win the coveted six eyeball rating is to opt for the "flying billboard" paint scheme. Works every time. I cannot say "awesome," particularly, no.

The 787 is the coolest commercial aircraft ever.

mumkin, yeah I ignored their ratings and oogled at the aircrafts. I know one can do that at Airliners.net too but this was a fun find for me.

Helvetic gets zero stars (the livery in question is the red/white style, not the magenta) for not being adventurous enough, but this abortion with wings gets six out of six?

hmmmm.... Mango anyone? Ok so it looks 'fun' and a bit 'whacky' but that's not really what I want when I'm 30,000 feet up in the air in a metal tube. Just get me there safely, OK?

What on Earth were those Transavia people thinking? Did they not know they were designing for a plane?

Needs more Comic Sans.

Blogs casting judgment on ANYTHING design-wise should be designed a lot better than this. Text almost unreadable; the 'six (why six?) eyes (those are supposed to be eyes?) rating system is abominable. The oversized header looks like something I rejected from the WordPress Free Themes.

Zero Ws.

Great find! The critiques are simple but interesting. Airline livery is a fascinating design sub-genre.

You fi'ing to raise up and get your travel on? From the interior to the exterior you got to your posterior in one of these big ass planes. Shit, dawg.

Neat find. Love aircraft. Love flying. YAYY Bernoulli's principle of air pressure.

Adding to the aviation style theme, Airchive, The Museum of Commercial Aviation with a visual feast of images of maps of the old routes.

Today Tarom Romanian Air Transport has taken delivery of Airbus' smallest aircraft type the A318. Despite Tarom uses this aircraft livery design for already some years the flag carier of Romania brand consistency is far to find. Instead of using the darkblue and white brand appearance like on the aircraft, Tarom still uses its national mid-blue, yellow and red colors in its core brand though the Tarom font type is the same in both brand apparals. Other aircraft in Tarom's fleet wear a slightly different livery than what this new added 'puppy' Airbus is showing.

WTF??

Can any of these aircraft take off from a conveyor belt moving backwards?

I'm shocked that the Pokemon airplane was not included.

Southwest Airlines has some pretty colorful planes, including the Shamu plane.

zixyer, I remember doing a double-take when I saw the Pokemon plane in LAX. I think it's pretty awesome.

The pixelated design on the tail of the Volaris plane made me think there was something naughty I wasn't supposed to see.
