Pull up an Oasis and sit a spell La-z-boy is introducing the Oasis, an armchair complete with built-in refrigerator and massager. This even beats out the Explorer for sheer passivity accommodation.

Although there's much talk about the gap between the Haves and the Have-nots, and the ever widening Digital Divide, how about the fact the in an era when athletic records are routinely shattered (we're down to a 3:43 mile, kids) obesity rates are also skyrocketing (necessitating an armchair with "42-inches from arm to arm.")? Will the biggest divide of all become the gap between those who engage in physical activities and those who sit in their Oasis'es and spectate?

I can see it now...the LA-Z-BOY site should have an Ass-Meter gauging just how much people's asses will increase in surface area by purchasing one of these. Lessee... another 10 pounds and we'll have to evacuate the whole community, Sarge!

I'm surprised it doesn't come with a catheter and Depends.

Do we need fat jokes?

This chair is an incredibly American idea. It's kind of the penultimate: add a toilet, which Homer Simpson has already done, and you don't need to get up. Ever. That's scary.

Forget using it for the big game. I've just found the chair I'll be using when I build my Ultimate Office. (this, plus twiddler, plus wacom tablet, plus projection screen. Oh yeah)
