"To never stop fighting means not knowing victory / So give me blank books to fill up with history" sing Adam Kline and Joanna Newsom in The Honey, The Power, The Light [youtube]

The band is Golden Shoulders, and the 2002 album that this song is from is Let My Burden Be. Their website has mystery meat navigation so here are direct links to the faq and four songs you can download. And wikipedia.

The zooming ruined all this unoriginal video had to offer. Still, thanks for the rest.

Actually,I find that video pretty objectionable even without the clumsy, pointless, headache-inducing zooms. Why the hell would you illustrate a simple, driving anti-establishment folk song with an inundation of pop images, memes and brands? It doesn't fit well.

spam navigation? what IS that?

The zooming ruined all this unoriginal video had to offer.

I like the song itself a lot more than this unofficial video, which I think unfortunately can distract people from the song's lyrics. But, this video is the only place I know of where I could link to the song, and I don't think the zooming makes it unwatchable. But if you do, you could just play the video in a background tab, and listen to the song.

Yes, AwkwardPause, the faq even mentions "A couple months later, Adam discovered that people with minds in the gutter found the band name to be hilarious." I suspect they don't care.

Well, it's the video that's out front, isn't it?

I did think about it for a while before posting, and decided I'd rather share the song with the video than not share it at all. Sorry you didn't like it, AV.

I actually dug the video. Some clever homonyms. I watched it twice. So there.

This is probably the first time Joanna Newsom's wee little girly voice didn't make me want to stop playback as fast as my fingers could move. She should definitely sing more duets with men who shout over her.

I rather like the song too. The video is sort of amusing, but the zoom gets old pretty quickly.
