Fortyone

Music to perk up those Monday-blunted ears of yours. I like music that puts an expression on my face similar to the this dog's. Fortyone is in "Waynesboro [PA] living right across the street from a park into which he'll occasionally Frisbee-toss some of his CD's for some unsuspecting strangers to stumble upon."

Fortyone "is all about using . . . 100% pre-recorded (by other people) material, to craft and shape humourous, happy, fun, bizarre, and new (musically sound and/or comically mischevious) aural creations using basic PC software and tons (almost literally) of old vinyl record albums (mainly childrens)."

Most of his albums start by welcoming you through the door, end with a warm goodbye, letting you know how you can contact him to let him know what you think. Sandwiched in between the greetings are a soup of sound collage, announcements, interviews, and general bouncy zaniness. (mp3's via Comfortstand)

He is prolific, and gives away scads of his material from his own website.

Do you want video collage with that?(Youtubery) Start with the Bright Headed Churchgoer for some fun mush-ups, or let him show you his own political landscape.

I like doing the dishes while Listening to Fortyone.

Start bouncing now.

Sweet mother this is a mess.
So are the video collages, sadly. Cable TV and Adobe Premier do not make you EBN.

I like these groups but you're turning out to be a little bloggy in style, Jimmy James.

That sounded a lot snarkier than I intended. Let me put it this way- some more editing and focus would help.

(I mean for the videos, not the FPP.... although a "More Inside" would help)

Fortyone was an extensive part of my late-night, community radio DJ repertoire. I may have been the only cash customer Comfortstand ever had but I bought all of his stuff there. Cool to see he's still out and about and putting together odd bits.

(I hope the [more inside] tag has ameliorated the blogginess of the FPP. Thanks to whoever did that. I'll learn.)

You say creative marketing, I say littering.
