Marijuana is illegal, and you can get into serious trouble if caught with it. You can even go to jail for it longer than if you were to kill your own wife. So, just ignore the study in this link.

I never could understand why those people who assume, and probably correctly, that pot does not cause serious injury etc never focus on the fact that it probably causes lung cancer since it is inhaled and rather rough stuff held within the lung for as long as possible. Does not cause death? maybe it doesn't. But I would check lungs every so often if I used it a lot.

I think the article makes a great point with regard to driving. If we would just come to terms with the fact that people are going to use it, then we could go ahead with common-sense steps to educate the public about the dangers of driving under the influence. Ultimately, this would help more people than the current scare-tactic approach.

it wont kill you, it may well give you lung cancer, it wont make you drive as bad as a drunk person, but it might confuse you at intersections, it wont make you say embarrassing things at your cousin's wedding like alcohol will, but it will make you flunk maths, you won't smoke a packet of them a day, but it is illegal, and it is a little foolish, and so is liquor, and so is tobacco. we don't need studies to tell us what is common sense. we need reeducation programs for those still living under the dillusions of reefer madness propaganda.

I caught a great ad on TV the other night. It made for a good reminder that the health effects of marijuana use have absolutely no relationship to it's illegality.

Marijuana is bad. Alcohol is bad. Both warp your ability to reason and perceive reality. Anyone who would *willingly* do that to themselves is truly to be pitied. The reason it's illegal is that society needs to put a "Don't Do This!" label on things that are, basically, BAD for said society. Having said that - if you do it in the privacy of your own home, and you don't have children, and you lock the doors so that you can't get out...have a ball. Just don't pretend that you're "cooler" than straight (non-drug using) people, because you're not.
