Except for the color, this looks very modern.

Whereas my actual kitchen (circa 196x) looks more like this or this, i.e. 3 square inches of counter space.

Look closely at those bottle caps.

Now answer this: How the hell did "rich in dextrose" ever amount to a boast-worthy attribute? How? Why? Dear god, why?!?

I was just recently enjoying these clips of Budapest apartment fashions in the 60's and 70's. More interesting stuff if you search for Budapest retro.

"A kisméretű lakásokban — és a lakások többsége ilyen — ..."

In my most affected mid-Atlantic finishing school accent:

Because, my good man, dextrose comes from corn, don't you know. And as we all know, nothing is healthier for the wholesome American family than juicy, farm-grown corn.

Why, in The Future(TM), even the most exotic foods like pot roast and broasted chicken will be rich in dextrose. It sounds crazy now, but anything can happen...in The Future!

Dextrose - It's Good Because We Sell It!

aha! Plan59 was EphemeraNow.

I thought these looked familiar.

Tell Don Draper to come into my office.

DU -- well, that looks modern except for the banks of florescent tubes above the backsplash.

But yes: it's amazing that 50's moderne still looks modern.
