That thread's gold. Which is often the case. My wife turned me into a goon for xmas last year, and I tried spending all my time, where I wasn't here, over there. But more and more I found myself just dropping in once a week to make a comment on Pet Island or The Firing Range and then coming back to my beloved blue site. When SA is good, it is very, very good. When it's not, well, it's not. But yeah, no arguments. Great take on the game.

I find that I read one or two threads elsewhere but spend all my time in the Let's Play forum which is pretty good all around. I'll probably eventually become a goon just for that subforum. Eventually.

A few years ago I played Animal Crossing on the Gamecube. I worked at it for a few weeks, but then real life got in the way and I kept coming back to it after longer periods of absence. Because the game runs in real time all the characters know you haven't been playing, so they bitch and moan and some of them even forget who you are. Additionally your shack falls to pieces, becomes roach infested, and the once beautiful countryside becomes overrun with weeds. So after a while I just felt too guilty to return to Animal Crossing knowing that I had contributed so to its downfall.

poo poo = shit, gently caress = fuck, etc. They're not too hard if you keep in mind that they're replacing obscenities. And I <3 the Let's Play subforum; it was "Let's Play Deus Ex", which GetWellGamers is still working on (where's the :argh: emoticon when you need one?) that magically removed ten dollars from my wallet and created an account. I spend most of my time these days in Laissez's Fair, the subforum set up as a place to gather Paultards.. and mock them.

I thought they enhanced the story quite a bit. Made it more fun for me, actually. That was an awesome thread, and a great story. Still, a little depressing to see all the comments claiming it's the best thing they've ever read. Sheesh. What do I need to have prior knowledge of in order for this post to make sense or be entertaining? Huh. I've never played AC or even held a Nintendo DS, and I had no problem figuring out what was up. I suppose the correct answer is "reading" or "reading message boards"?
