Half-human album covers. Also known as "sleevefaces."

Some of these were great-- matching the outfits, etc. Some were just pictures of people holding records in front of their faces.

Wow, this is great. I don't know whether it's because I've never owned any vinyl records but this "sleevefaces" concept is brand new to me. Makes me want to buy an Iggy Pop LP, and makes me hate CDs all the more. Thanks, KevinSkomsvold.

You're welcome kurtroehl! They seem to get better as you scroll down.

No Sticky Fingers? No Born in the USA?

Clearly my mind exists entirely below the waist.

Be sure to make it all the way down to the bottom of the page to see what they've done to ol' Leonard. Hilarious! (I think Cohen himself would get a chuckle...)

This has also been done with books; witness Jeffrey Redux.

Songs About Fucking wins... for no other reason than it's Big Black.

I forgot Loverboy's Get Lucky. Butthole Surfer's Rembrandt Pussyhorse. Someone please stop me.

Free Your Mind and Your Ass Will Follow by Funkadelic. Ok I'm done now.

I'm surprised nobody bothered to whip up a batch of red food coloring and Karo syrup and took a picture of themselves with I Get Wet in front of their face.

The "Ted Nugent peeking over the wall" made me laugh.

psmealey writes "Songs About Fucking wins..."

Seriously? I mean, he really chickened out there, didn't he, by avoiding the obvious tableau, or at least a play on it. He didn't even get the angle right.

I dunno... I think as a general rule avoiding the obvious is the opposite of chickening out.

flapjax at midnite writes "I think as a general rule avoiding the obvious is the opposite of chickening out."

But there's nothing particularly courageous about standing around in an argyle sweater. He could have at least pretended to be doing something straining/ecstatic.

Plumbing, maybe.

I hear you. Plumbing is courageous, for sure.

Then again, standing around in an argyle sweater might be courageous if you're at, say, a Marilyn Manson concert.

Heres a few more on flicker.

Very cool Sailormom. Most of those are better in terms of execution (shoulders, arms, posture lining up) than my original linked photos.

Missing two. You fill in the argyle:

what is the pinkish album with a woman's head right above the Iggy Pop one? It is so familiar yet I can't place it.....

The Victor Borge "Caught in the Act" one is just brilliant!

Loads of fun, although the Richard and Linda Thompson album cover guy doesn't seem to quite get the concept.

I live in something approaching a vacuum. I had never realized that Prince was such a pretty, pretty man. And I'm not talking about the rack under the album, either. And I was watching the night he won his Oscar (but then, he looked so totally gay, I would miss the pretty anyway...while being jealous of that sequin cape)

+1 Big Black. Besides the fact that it makes me happy there are others out there who remember that album, I agree that the lethargic argyle pose was the perfect contrast.

Ah yes, like a bit of house dust getting sucked into the nozzle!

I liked the female Iggy Pop and Prince, and the white Bob Marley, John Coltrane, and Jay-Z for the humor value, but the Tiffany and Cliff Richards ones really impressed me with their accuracy.

Daaayyyyum! Who knew Prince had such a nice rack?
