MATSYS Based on the idea that architecture can be understood as a material body with its own intrinsic and extrinsic forces relating to form, growth, and behavior, the studio investigates methodologies of performative integration through geometric and material differentiation.

Nifty stuff. I like this diagram a whole bunch.

The dance that goes along with those images is pretty nice too, but yeah, I kinda prefer the stills. I think this stuff is pretty impressive too, but I hoped that people would crawl through on their own.

I was trying to figure out why this sounded so familiar, and I realized it's because we share a ton of the same interests - I keep coming across their site through various means.

They turned me on to Tragsysteme/Structure Systems by Heino Engel, and it changed my life :)

(and they also like tessellations, so they're definitely good people. But I'm myopic like that.)

The P_Wall is great, and surprisingly simple to make: just plaster, dowels, and fabric. No CNC machines or equivalent are required.
