No Free Lunchster! No discussion is really necessary-- cause this is just plain stupid...(well, ok, we can discuss if you want:)

It's not really a double-post (I don't think), but this particular site was already mentioned here. And boy am I tired of talking about this topic.

let's talk about the fact that you can't view the site in Netscape 4.7 because of the proprietary code they use.

isn't using the Napster logo copyright infringement?

not if it's a parody of the napster logo, which it seems to be.

What? People still use Netscape? Surely not.

Six-Oh is shite, howa, but I feel most comfy in NS. It's a bitch to code for, though.

Bad coding, and the logo makes me want to buy a cute hamster. IS that weird?

Huh? Looking at the code, it looks like a bunch of table tags and font face stuff. Any clue about what's so proprietary about this code (other than the <font> tag which Netscape came up with) that it breaks Netscape?

Of course, I just skimmed the code, so maybe I missed something.

The text is still there in Netscape 4.7. But, it is white on a white background. The problem lies in the coder using a directory with spaces in the name ("No Free Lunchster_files/spacer-news.gif"). Netscape has trouble with spaces in file or directory names. So, when trying to get the image to set the background of the table to blue, Netscape bombs out, leaving the bg of the table white. A simple bgcolor attribute added to the background attribute would have solved the problem. But, it doesn't look like the designer was sophisticated enough to understand that...

I don't think it is so much proprietary code as it is bad coding. A simple %20 will make it come up.
