It tries way too hard, and fails by too much, to be all that funny. LOLHESAIDFUCK! I think that might not be in the BBC version of the series, only the Discovery version. Planet Earth was filmed by the BBC with some funding from Discovery. There is no reason at all to film something so fantastic as that shark sequence and then just 'leave it out' of the original version. The US version was edited a fair bit for time because of the hideous amounts of adverts you poor lot have to tolerate. As far as I am aware, however, the only major difference between the two is the narration - for some unknown reason, the US version has Sigourney Weaver narrating. Presumably based on her massive experience in Natural History.... Oh. Hang on. So, if anyone is going to buy Planet Earth, I very strongly recommend buying the BBC version - it's pretty widely available in the US - it has more in it and has the bloke that actually wrote the narration reading it, rather than some random movie star who just has a nice voice.

I particularly liked the end piece with the wolves chasing their prey, because I figure if animals were capable of articulating their feelings using a language that we understood, it would more or less sound like; Oh no!
