Fake Bird Poop is Pata-Fake

So you remember that 'dumb, totally fake' video of a bird pooping in a reporter's mouth that was posted and deleted a week ago? It's meta-fake. Maybe even pata-fake.

You do realise this doesn't make it any less dumb or fake don't you?

Meh, get with the times. We replaced pata-faka with sata-fake, and hell, we're using sata-II-fake now. Of course, in the enterprise, it's all sas-fake or fibber channel.

I do think it makes it quite a lot funnier (even though, or perhaps especially because SuperDeluxe is a front for TimeWarner).

eriko: thank you for making the base joke I could not bring myself to make in the FPP, and then embiggening it with all that is fibber channel

I'd forgotten just how funny Odenkirk can be. The meta-fake clip took a while to build up but by 1:30 I was clenched up in laughter.

Someone get that man a new production deal.

Oh wait. I watched the rest of it. Never mind. Someone get that man another prosumer camcorder and pay off his bandwidth bill.

Frumundah soda? No. Frumundah cheese? Yes. You know, it's cheese, frumundah there.

When I was shown the original "news" clip by coworkers who always show me this kind of thing and thought it was hilarious, I dismissed it as fake and chided them for finding it funny.

I just watched this and found out the people behind the original were a bunch of people I find hilarious and were just using it as a setup to something I thought was genuinely funny. I called the coworkers who showed me the fake clip in to show them the payoff.

They didn't think it was funny. At all.

I don't know what to make of that.

Thanks very much blasdelf.

Reminds me of Mr. Show a lot. Wasn't funny before because it was obviously fake, but the idea of selling soda for washing shit out of your mouth has potential.

I wanted to see what was so funny at 1:30, but I had a little trouble making it past the blatantly racist shit at :50.

What, you don't think FOB Africans are funny? What's wrong with you? I frikkin' married a Nigerian because she makes me laugh so goddamn much. Always dancing around and talking about elephants. Oh, ha-ha, ho; she's a goddamn jungle riot.

That said, I thought the line, "I will whore out your daughter before I whore out my soda!" was comedy gold. Maybe the only comdey gold in the whole video, but funny nonetheless.

OmieWise,

Oh god, really?

Maybe I found the meta-aspect so insane & inspired my radar got warped.
Anyway, your point is well taken - as painful as it is to think about it.

Remember on that very same blog when he called out Patton Oswalt for calling him out for selling out even though he does Sierra Mist commercials?

Adds yet another layer to the humor.

Or not. I'm not sure yet.

How is it that a prominent Nigerian business man wouldn't speak English? I kept wondering about that and missed all the funny.

MCMikeNamara, that was David Cross, not Bob Odenkirk.

And racist? Really? Maybe my sensors aren't finely tuned enough to take this as more having fun with foreigners than races.

Great. A viral of a viral. And then, just to be sure the message infects it's host, post it to a community blog under the idea of exposing it.

Meet the new Ultra-Recursive marketing.

This is funny and problematically ___ist in the same way that Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job is simultaneously funny and ____ist. And Odenkirk is associated with that show too.

Thinking about this pata thing. How is it different than fiction or fantasy?

Staking my claim as first posting the poop-in-mouth vid, pairing it with patastic (?) War of the Worlds.

Pata-fake?

Liar. There's nothing at all in any of the links regarding synthetic noodles. You got my hopes up in anticipation of the perfect side to the cheeseburger in a can.

What a let down.

I need cliff notes on this as I can't be bothered watching past the introduction of the Nigerian soda company men. Is it a fake bird-poop video, or a viral spoofing the real bird poop video?
