Seconded. I would go so far as to prepend "T3H" to blaneyphoto's assessment above.

Quite amazing.

Reminds of the magic of Benday Dots, lithography, halftone dots and grayscale images.

It's interesting that he uses the sepia toning of packing tape to reinforce the antiquated images—look at the hair and the hats and you can see they're drawn from '40s photo references.

Great stuff...though even just by looking at it, I get the toxic smell of packing tape in my nostrils.

nice link...thanks.....

I do that with duct tape... doesn't work as well...

drawn from 40's photo references

Well, some of them. Others, not.

Awesome technique, though. I love how he's made the impression of carved detail in these chairs just by carefully crinkling the tape.

They're incredible. I wonder if they start to crinkle and peel off after a few years though?

How in the world do you conceptualize something that abstractly realistic? It's like the guy has a complex Photoshop filter implanted in his brain (and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible).

Not only excellent work, but excellent work not crippled by a revolting Flash interface. Thank you. Will other artists and photographers please consider how much more effective a website like this is for spreading their work?

Wow.

Way, way more impressive than I was expecting. (Packing tape ... who knew? To think of how much I've wasted on boxes.)

And seconding gum about the surprising non-crappiness of the interface/presentation. I'd like to roll this page up and beat a whole lot of other web designers with it, until they realize that obnoxious Flash widgets make the baby jesus cry.

I almost didn't click on this, but I sure am glad I did. Super cool mixed media idea that I haven't heard of before.

Amazing. When someone takes simple tape and glass and creates images like this, it makes me feel...well, irritated, really, because I don't have that kind of talent, but nice post, anyway.

Nthing the non-flash interface niceness.

Wow, awesome. It's like he's taken one of those infuriating 2-D Design class assignments - duplicate every value in this photograph using. . . a wine cork and india ink! No, wait, packing tape! - and made it fantastic, unique and his own. These are great and I am deeply impressed. said the woman who would never have passed 2-D Design without a boyfriend who had already taken it and therefore did those kind of assignments for her.
