Two great tastes that I wouldn't physically eat, but still go well together.

Woah... Eddie Izzard, stop-motion, and Lego dudes? This is like looking into my brain and seeing what makes it tick.

I ♥ Eddie Izzard.*

From the comments at the profile page of the YouTube user who made/posted the videos:
"eddie izzard was being awarded at my University in Dublin and he mentioned how good your lego videos are. he said theyre really funny and its great how people do this kinda thing even though they make no money and that he'd like to meet you."
So, it appears that Izzard appreciates the Lego homage.

Soooo good. One of my coworkers is wondering why I'm snickering like a school girl.

Got hooked on izzard after a girl I know listed him among her influences/favorite comedians. I duly checked into him during a year long pursuit of her heart, in that great way of getting to know someone unfolding like the layers of a closed magnolia. Slow dancing with her was like a never ending almost-hug.

Never forget the feeling when she told me that she wanted to
just.
be.
friends.
Blood contracted from my veins as though they had been sucked out with a vacuum. Years later she's chasing some son of a preacherman who's into sustainable agriculture (read cow shit). But at least I can laugh out loud for hours at some of the funniest material in modern comedy. Anna are you out there?

Blockbuster is(are) a bunch of punks for not carrying his work. Let them wither and die on the retail vine.

Fan-made Music Videos on YouTube Draw Admiration from 'The Boss' No Less
"Not only music is re-visualized online; standup comedy bits are often brought to life. One video-poster named Thorn2200 (who identifies himself as a 15-year-old) has created nearly a dozen Lego-animation videos to correspond with Eddie Izzard's standup.

Here , he illustrates Izzard's 'Death Star Canteen' bit, complete with a miniature Darth Vader.

How bands and other artists greet these unofficial videos can be awkward. Have them removed, you risk alienating your fans; leave them and you give up a part of your branding."

I would have liked to see the Lego of "covered in bees!" but I suppose that would be tricky.

The only man I know who actually does look better dressed as a woman. Oh and the one from that movie. And probably dozens of others who I don't even realize are men.

I'll start again: The only Euro-centric standup comic I know who actually does look better dressed as a woman. With two zs in his name.

Also: As well done as these are, 63% of the fun of Izzard is watching his face and body.

OK! We're going now! You've totally defeated us! We're just going to leave! And here's a big wooden horse! As is the custom!

The first link, the Darth Vader canteen bit, had me laughing so hard that I was beyond crying. My dinner actually started to come back up. I had to go walk it off. TMI, I know.

Also, the Metafilter inline Youtube javascriptery thing is great. Love it!

I lived in Wisconsin, once, for a couple of months. I failed to poke a badger with a spoon. I fear my chance has passed and will not return.

This is great. I remember seeing him on the Circle tour and actually laughing so hard during the Death Star Canteen bit that I literally fell out of my seat and sat on the floor, sobbing. I am not laughing quite that hard this time, but it's close.

I'm with DU on this one: Izzard's gesture and physical delivery are not to be missed, sorry, Lego.

He's back doing a bit of a tour these days. I was lucky enough to snag two front row, dead center tix to see him in NY in two weeks. I had the same seats ( different theatre ), for Sexie when he was in NY last time. I would bear the man's children if I had the proper plumbing.
