Viral Obama

John.He.Is turns John McCain quotes into a beautiful song. Two suburban women sit around discussing whether or not America is ready for a smart President. Filmmakers get ready to release Barackula: The Musical. Rap musician BigHitBuda drops Elect Obama.

So here's an effort to nip this in the bud - I'm guessing the mods are getting sick of deleting or thinking about deleting so many Obama posts. Here's a place to dump all of your Obama viral/media links. Now, let's be done with this for awhile.

Sorry if that last part came out wrong. I don't want to assume how the mods do things around here, or to get a pass by linking some videos and then shutting the door to future posts. I'm just saying, maybe it'd be a good to post all of the Chuck Norris/Obama, funny skits, music videos, etc. that are popping up on the interwebs all in one post. Feel free to delete away or mock relentlessly if this is ill considered.

Seems ill considered. Do we actually do "dump all your links here" posts? I don't remember ever seeing any.

at 2:06 in the ready for a smart President you can see that the creators "rented" one of the women's shoulder bags. That's the kind of fiscal responsibility I want to see!

We already have two active Obama threads. I'm a supporter and I have appreciated your comments in the other threads, bullysumday, but every time I see a new Obama post go up I think, jesus, we're going to make everyone sick of this if they're not already. I could do with a moratorium unless something extraordinary comes up.

Yeah, good points everyone. I think things are getting a little too saturated with Obama, so this was a nip-in-the-bud move, but if it only adds to the saturation then obviously I miscalculated. Apologies y'all.

The John.He.Is. link drove me nuts; I'm sure it is great satire, but the talking-over-each-other was hard to listen to. I enjoyed the "smart president" video, though.

Don't forget this Hillary Music Video .

Oh, that really backfired. I'm so voting for Obama now just to punish the people who made that video.

Can that Hillary video possibly have been made by people who, you know, want her to win? The dancers, especially, make me suspect parody.

I was just leafing through "obama folk" on youtube last night, casually pondering an fpp. But it was all CRAP! I must be old and cynical. Stay gold, billysumday.

Could someone who dosn't support Obama confirm or deny the quality of those probama videos? I think they're great, and I suspect that my critical reasoning may be unduely influenced by my own support of Barack.

The various Obama videos are all pretty damn slick. I wonder if it's because he attracts the youth vote that he gets some of the more media-savvy people too? Or is it the other way around?

But I too am an Obama supporter, so there ya' go....

Yay! One of my best friends is the mixing/sound engineer for Barackula. I can't believe it's being talked about on the internet...

Will.i.am on the Grammy's last night just destroyed any of the good will he had earned from the Obama video. If there's nothing that rhymes with Grammy, don't force it, man.

I do support Barack, but I find the Yes We Can video annoying as hell: either let Barack speak, or let the singers do it; mixing the two together is grating and atonal. The "We Are The World"-ness of it also makes me kind of itchy.

It made the John.He.Is parody possible, though, so that almost justifies it.

I just thought it was unintelligible. Not stirring.

Am I the only person let down that Barackula isn't a version of Heart's "Barracuda," altered to be about Scott Backula?

Okay, and then there's Hillary and the Band, wherein La Clinton is lightheartedly portrayed as a vituoso guitarist who unexpectedly destroys the dreams of her hip young bandmates when her ambitions prove too powerful for her to ignore. Produced by the Clinton campaign, which is hardly ever tone deaf, and is universally beloved by young hipstrs.

If we're dumping obamanations in here, mike_bling's recently posted project, U Rock Obama, intends to document DIY Obama stuff. It's thin, but I have a feeling that the coming months will see mountains of naïve artifacts of the campaign appear there. Send your crappy Obama stuff his way once this thread closes down.

If she's quick on her feet!

Remember: always keep both feet on the ground, make sure that, in terms of reach, you are always one lunge plus one yard away at all times and that there are always two other persons in the room when you see Mr. President.

And never forget that when you date the President, you date every other person the President has ever dated.
