Everyone knows that's the hamster dance song slowed down, right? Does that mean this site is that old? posted by ALongDecember at 8:37 PM on February 11, 2008

dammit Long December, I had written a post about the Ham(p)sterdance/Robin Hood thing, previewed, saw your first comment, reworked mine so that your comment was incorporated, previewed, and saw that you beat me on it again. I'm not previewing again as I've already wasted 10 minutes on a post that says very little other than that I'm slow at showcasing what little useless trivia I know about this #%^$ site. posted by Challahtronix at 8:51 PM on February 11, 2008

Ok, and the hamster dance song is a sped up version of a song from Disney's Robin Hood. I did not know that.
I recognized that Robin Hood clip right away as an old song by the late great Roger Miller called Whistle Stop. From one of his least-regarded albums, which I now apparently have owned (dang me!) for 35 years.
I did not realize that Mr. Miller had ever been a) a cartoon rooster or b) an Internet-famous ham(p)ster, but the Wiki confirms that this is true. posted by LeLiLo at 2:00 AM on February 12, 2008

Maybe this is a little early, but perhaps we're seeing the emergence of a new, "Dog on a Pony" genre of web art. I enjoy these, particularly as antidote to the millions of blase parked domains and "search engines".
Also, I'm now officially pissed off (again) that my first ever post to Metafilter was deleted. And also kinda proud. I keed, I keed. No snarks, please. posted by flotson at 5:47 AM on February 12, 2008

These pages are going to make me sterile, but whatever. It's worth it for that clock cursor. (ah the sacrifices we make for the interweb...). I've inserted the Script into a page but still can't get the clock to work.
I've positioned it at the bottom of the code just before the final
