For what it's worth, the actual trailer for this was the only one that's made me want to see the movie in at least the last year. If they'd shown this one instead, I can't imagine that would've been any different.

I think this is an after joke, I don't think it's really meant to replace the other trailer. And it's really, silly, simple and funny or, in other words, great stuff. It's really cool that he took the time to do a silly joke like this.

In the movie, they apparently start out by saying that it's the Swedish version of Ghostbusters, which is why it looks different. They then use the term "swede-ing" to describe their remaking process and style.

I've been looking forward to this film since I first saw the original trailer a couple of months ago. I was a little uncertain about Mos Def when he first started acting, but he has been just consistently fantastic in every movie I've seen him in. I strongly suspect that this will be no different.

Funny, speaking of infinite recursion. Just yesterday I was poking some of the five-minute no-budget remakes for the "Rewind Kindly" contest (the tron one was the best) and found a couple of guys had remade the Be Kind Rewind trailer itself.

I saw the movie before I saw either trailer, and I have to say - unfortunately, as I like Gondry - I enjoyed his own trailer more than his film. The film is about being whimsical and magical, but doesn't really succeed in having those attributes itself (though this being Gondry, that's not for want of trying). In this case, I think the concept may be better suited to a short form.

It has not been FPP'd as far as I know -- go for it if you think it's entertaining enough and dissimilar enough from this post. I watched a dozen or so and I liked the Die Hard and Blade Runner ones as well. There's sure to be some overlooked gems in there. If you FPP it, give credit to puritycontrol. I saw this the other night, and loved the beginning - enjoyed the whole thing, but felt like the end was a bit soppy, whereas it started off just wonderfully bizarre and hilarious. But I am adding a comment here because that website is really funny. Check out the sweded internet, and then I recommend doing a search for "paris hilton", "cats", and perhaps "google earth", for starters...
