Awesome. I wouldn't consider the Leslie Spit Trio or Tristan Psionic to be *that* obscure compared with a Newfoundland jug band, but it's great that Problem Children are included. The Future of the World Is Up To Us is a fantastic record, a Canadian classic. Not your average small-town hardcore band. I still own this album; I knew it was a keeper when I was reduced to selling records to scrape together cash for video gams and cigarettes.

Sweet Daddy Siki used to do Karaoke at the Starlight on Queen St. Sometimes the place would have an influx of junkies around midnight just milling around, pretending to listen to the music while waiting by the bathroom for their dealer. One night one of them did a half decent version of Lou Reed's "I'm Waiting for the Man", blowing several minds and officially ushering in the post-irony age. That place is now the Drake Hotel, one of the most vaccous, soulless hipster joints in Toronto.
