Man, I remember being a 7th grader and making movies with soundtracks by Queen and the Eagles. Those have got to be the biggest selling Greatest Hits albums of all time. (Actually, yeah... that's not too far off.)

Okay, I loved that on various levels. First off, it rocked. But secondly, it makes me really want to dig into the box underneath my bed and pull out the old tape cassettes of my friends and I in third grade. In particular, I recall we made an AWESOME episode of Charlie's Angels (plus commercials) where the main plotline was that the Angels were sick of never getting to meet Charlie so they all piled into a polkadotted van and kidnapped him, only to discover that he was hideously ugly and toss him out of the van onto the freeway. Oh, but that's not all... we also had a secondary plotline where Bosley had over time become too insanely jealous of all of the attention the Angels were getting, so he got a sex change and dubbed himself Boselena. Yep, our screenplay worked on SO many levels.

Well ok, so not as many levels as the freakin' Battle of Gettysburg. But whatever.

Yeah, that was full of awesome. My favorite bit is about 0:45 into the third clip, when recently-shot-guy falls next to blown-up-and-dismembered guy and says "Hey Russell." Golden.

Yeah, that was full of awesome. My favorite bit is about 0:45 into the third clip, when recently-shot-guy falls next to blown-up-and-dismembered guy and says "Hey Russell." Golden.

The greatest thing about about this part is that the dismembered guy fell into a pile a leaves, and his name was Russell. I wonder if the kids meant for this to be a subtle nod to the joke "What do you call an armless, legless man in a pile of leaves?" If so, I am so afraid of these geniuses.

Current Favorite Bit: Day 2, 0:24.

Officer: "What a beautiful view."

Soldier: "I hope you know there are people dying out there."

Officer: "Well, if there wasn't a war going, it would be one great view."

Also Day 2, 2:26. The guy flying by in the background.

On preview: aftermarketradio, you got it. I was wondering why the guy fell in a pile of leaves. This gets better the more you watch it.

That was amazing. Packed with historical tidbits and Three Stooges comedy moments this was great. Those kids really like to say "fungus." And I never knew Pickett's swore so much. Comedic gold. Using Ballroom Blitz for the credits was so randomly perfect. Can anyone go wrong with stop motion Legos? I doubt it.
