This year's winners of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival's annual haiku contest were recently announced.

floppy-brimmed hat shades her book
blossoms cradles dreams.
Yes, it's seventeen syllables; not true haiku. But then, most of the poems in that link didn't seem to abide by the spirit of haiku, such as I understand it. And yes, it's an imperfect understanding.
