Is this troll a troll? or is it instead a metatroll or a precursor to a troll or an anti-troll? Do not send to ask for whom the troller trolls.

It's a proto-Troll. (And the author's a mate: he's actually going to be cited in the OED's new edition under "troll".)

This is just a variation on a theme. We're going to glorify Trolls (with a capital "T") now cuz they're, like, alternative. For those kids who want to be a h4x0r but don't have the computer skills...

This reminds me a bit of HateWatch. People argued that bringing to light such bigotry and hatred would only assist hate groups in aquiring members. However, instead the project shone a powerful illuminating torch upon the sheer ignorance and poor judgment of such groups, revealing them to be the absurd and pathetic losers that they are. I'm sad to see it go.

Knowledge is power, particularly when that knowledge is matched with action. Whether this Troll project is intended for trolling or not, it does arm the intelligent reader with ways to identify and even arm oneself against those who purposefully antagonize for no reason other than to seek attention.

So be you friend or foe to the Usenet troller, this should be a reminder that every cloud has a silver lining, and every dog has his day, ...and a number of other obnoxious catch phrases which come to mind but I will spare you the agony. =)

So HateWatch is going off the air.

Why?

They don't say "our work here is done", or "we couldn't hack the retribution" or *anything* to explain why they quit.

What am I missing?

From the link:
(women always make the best trollees as they have a logical reasoning capacity of zilch)

Expert timing, ludicrous premise... such subtle precision. A truly beautiful troll.
