None of those stairs adhere to my local building codes, and quite frankly I wouldn't want to live anywhere they might. Steep? Check. Slippery? Check. Jagged? Check. Uninterrupted? Check. Handrail? Nope! It's a perfect storm of neck-breakery.

I agree on most points... except for the stairs that double as some sort of storage. Except for the one floored in CD cases and lined with books. That one's kinda stupid. I mean, jewel cases are SHARP!

None of those stairs adhere to my local building codes, and quite frankly I wouldn't want to live anywhere they might. C'mon. Not all of them violate US codes, and most of them can easily be adapted to meet codes wherever you are. Too steep? Stretch them out. Too slippery? Use a different surface. No handrail? Add one that fits the design.
