Hah, every time I see these kind of cattle, I wonder how well they can judge their own horizontal clearance. Like, would they clothesline themselves running through a too-narrow gate? Or would they do like what my dog did the time he tried to run through the doggie dog while carrying a baguette he stole off the kitchen counter: ...bonk!...bonk!....sideways turn, success!

Here's a splendid pair. I don't like cattle much, and that's based on a lot of experience with them, but I do sort of like placid, older bulls, the big stocky beef breeds. The kind like in the "No, let's walk down to the bottom of the hill and..." joke. Like great big bulky statues poised in the field, only occasionally moved from one place to another or pointed in a different direction for the sake of artistic variety.

Do the horns have any... nerves or anything inside them so the animals can tell when they're scraping up on something? (Obviously I know nothing about cattle.)
