Aw, I'd love this if it were more complete (no Rhythmbox?). At the moment I kludge through all my new software choices with the wikipedia software comparison tables.
At least their blog (Sourced) looks promising. Does anyone else have a favorite open source blog? posted by cowbellemoo at 7:30 AM on April 18, 2008 [1 favorite]
Lack of Rhythmbox is exactly the thing that made me leave with a "maybe later, if you ever flesh out the catalog".
I use wikipedia but also just read the descriptions that pop up in Ubuntu's installer window. posted by DU at 8:15 AM on April 18, 2008
You should both be joining the community and driving Rhythmbox onto the list! :D posted by Abiezer at 8:55 AM on April 18, 2008
Good concept, but disappointing in action. I really do like this idea and what they are trying to do, though, and I would like to see many more reviews on the site, which looks very young yet and hardly complete. posted by misha at 9:20 AM on April 18, 2008
pretty new, but bookmark worthy - thanks posted by Zinger at 5:19 PM on April 18, 2008
The last thing the open source community needs is more marketing-douche hangers-on. Having lots of clueless users is not a good thing (especially the sort of users that respond to marketing). There aren't many quicker ways to mire a noncommercial project and drive off the contributing community. posted by blasdelf at 10:00 PM on April 18, 2008
