Giving as good as they get? I don't condone this, but it's the first time in this country that I've heard whites complaining like this (and, symmetrically, the Asian community blaming a small minority).

I hope this doesn't spread to Leicester (an excellent town, where I - white - live, with one of the most diverse communities in the country), but the way this is being reported (on BBC Radio 4 as I type) is interesting...

Suddenly white people are complaining that they are afraid to walk the streets; that the police aren't catching the troublemakers. And it seems to get a lot more coverage than when the same is being said by non-whites.

60% of attacks are on whites - that's only just over half. I'd like to know what percentage of people in the area (one of the most deprived in England/Wales according to reports) consider themselves white. Maybe it's about 40%? So is there any reason to think this is any worse than the Asian community finally giving out exactly what they've been taking?

The entire community needs to get together and negotiate peace, and quick. I don't know squat about Britain, but if they just squash this tensions can only rise.

It's not even vigilante justice... its merely retaliating against innocent people and copying the very same injustices perpetrated against you in the past. Batman would track down the racist thugs, not just smack around any old whitey that stumbled into the bat cave.
