I learned to type, back in the day, on a typewriter rather than newfangled computer screens with kerned fonts. Which means, I have the habit of hitting the spacebar twice after each period burned into my brain--which here means the equivalent of randomly spasming and yanking on the emergency brake. As I mentioned to a friend, "Not as good as blowing off chunks of gory gibby rotting zombieflesh by typing at your foes, but then again, what is?" Still neat.

Incidentally - I use TextExpander, and it works normally - i.e. "teh" is corrected to "the". And the Racer thing accepts it. So it's not entirely foolproof. Just sayin'. The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Also, I really don't like how they handle typos in the game. They don't seem to alert you to mistakes until you try to go on to the next word, making you waste type backspacing longer words to correct errors made at the beginning of them. Also, there's some weird hiccup when making a mistake between two words separated by a comma or period. I'm not sure what the problem is, exactly, but I keep having to backspace and retype multiple times to get it to move on.

I topped out at 110 wpm on quotes from Pulp Fiction & Snatch. The Clockwork Orange quote consistently screwed me; the list of uncommon words was too much ("hoodlum"? Really?). It's a shame the top 10 is mostly hacked; I'd like to see how I really shape up. Where's the 10 key version?
