Is this new, or has it been around for awhile? Because if we're linking to games that have been around for a bit but haven't caught on as well as they might've, there's always the 3D version of Scorched Earth.

This has been around for a good long while. My computer broke recently, and when I dragged out the old Windows 98 machine (the horror, the horror!), I found Decker again and was like "Oh, MeFi might like that."

Man it sure sucks to be a mac user, can't ever run windows games. :/ *the daniel, poor mac user that he is, fires up VirtualBox running a copy of Windows and runs the game*

I think everyone who's interested in these games should play Larn. It's not the "best" roguelike, but it's fun and unique.

God, I haven't played this for years. Of course, the shadowrun system now has a completely different hacking mechanism now. I was introduced to this by a sort of friend who actually knew the guy. My brush with fame, I suppose.

Another great simulated-hacking game is Spybot: the Nightfall Incident. It has a dumb name and you need to install Shockwave, but it's awesome. And of course for an MMORPG version, there's Slave Hack.
