That's a coincidence.

I ran into Carl Hunter -- ex-Farm bassist, currently working in film -- shopping at my local Sainsbury's a couple of weeks ago. He lives just a few streets over from me. So we went and had a cup of coffee, and as we're sitting outside the cafe, Kevin Sampson wanders along with a few of his boys, on the way to do a reading in Pritchards, the local indy bookshop.

Nice guy. No side whatsoever. Which is kind of unusual for someone from the Wirral. (I keed.)

Cool, thanks motownoni, and great story, Peter McDermott. I'm betting it will take a while for us to be able to see it over here. When's the release date?

Stanley knives give me the shits.

Sorry to rain on your first-postin' parade, but it's "Sampson", not Samson, and your lack of virtually any punctuation makes it really difficult to understand what's going on here. Hopefully when a mod wakes up they can help you with this?

I'm with N H-I. I came in here expecting a good old joined-last-week-posted-3-comments-and-now-self-linking pile on. Fine. I suppose it would be more constructive to just fix it so that it doesn't make my brain bleed.

No punctuation, but you did put single quotes around a book title, which is certainly... something.

Spartacus was the soundtrack to my junior year college tour. I wore out the tape, something I can't even say about On Through the Night.

Translation:

Kevin Sampson used to manage Liverpool indie-pop band, The Farm. His first novel, Awaydays, was once described as 'Catcher in the Rye with Stanley Knives' and is finally being transferred to celluloid. Sneak peeks here and here.

Speaking as someone who is wearing a Tranmere badge right now, I'm really looking forward to this. Though the only thing I can really recall from the novel is the loving descriptions of trainers and cagoules and wedge haircuts.

Nice guy. No side whatsoever. Which is kind of unusual for someone from the Wirral. (I keed.)
