Not bad. I wonder why he didn't have it emulate the arcade game using the original roms (like MAME does). If I had any free time these days, I'd go and do it.

I taught Ben in High School and then worked with him at my college's computer center. Or maybe I taught his little brother. I don't recall -- my memory's hazy from those few years, just six or seven years ago. In any case, Ben's one sharp whip.

I've never seen anything like this running in a terminal. Does anyone remember the old "worms" screensaver (well, "terminal" saver) from the days of gopher and talk?

If people had made games like this 8 years ago, I wonder if we'd all be playing remote, multiplayer games via telnet. Instead, we built games to stand alone for years and then started adding networking functionality later.

I'd like to find a Palm OS or CE version so I could play it on my phone.

I'm in a PC assembly class right now (literally, right now, I am in the lab working on a final project), and the first "graphical" stuff we programmed relied heavily on text-mode video. I wish I had thought of something like this before committing myself to a graphics-intensive protected-mode project.
